How it all Started…
Kinderguard’s self-closing and self locking gate was developed because of the need for a reliable and removable gate system. For years, the only way to enter a pool fence was to open the mesh fence using a spring loaded safety latch. Although this method is still in use today, a more convenient and efficient one was needed.
After months of testing we arrived at our final design. This gate was so unique that it was granted a patent by the US Patent office. With thousands of gates in use it has become the gate of choice for homeowners nationwide.
Construction

When we started the design process we knew that the gate had to be the strongest part of the fence system. The frame and support members had to be able to withstand repeated openings and closings without failure.
The frames and supports are constructed using aluminum 11/4” square tubing with a 1/8” wall thickness. All of the joints are mitered and welded to provide a stronger and more uniform appearance.
All of this helps in preventing the frame and supports from racking and bending. Once the gate is completed it is then powder coated to provide a lasting finish that will provide years of maintenance free use.
The key lockable latching system used in our gates is magnetically triggered. Mechanical latches have been known to fail. For years Magna Latch has been the leader in magnetic latching systems. It’s for this reason that we chose them to be the exclusive provider of our latches and hinges.
The Magna Latch Tru-Close self-closing and adjustable hinge, allows the gate to close when released. We understood the need for a reliable and removable gate system.
